Prohibited content and conduct

  • False, materially incomplete or misleading listings, identities, financial figures or credentials.

  • Fraud, advance-fee requests, money laundering, impersonation or attempts to bypass lawful due diligence.
  • Unlawful, infringing, discriminatory, threatening or harassing content.
  • Spam, unsolicited bulk contact, scraping, automated extraction, security testing without permission or interference with the service.

Enquiries and communications

Enquiries must relate to a genuine interest in the advertised business. Contact details obtained through BusinessSold must not be reused for unrelated marketing, sold to another party or used to pressure or deceive a user.

Broker standards

Brokerages must accurately describe their company, team, areas and experience; keep client authority; manage team access responsibly; and promptly update listings that are sold, withdrawn or no longer available.

Repeated or serious breaches may lead to permanent removal and, where appropriate, referral to law enforcement or regulators.
